Goto Droid Incredible Tab and proceed with it, you can flash this rom after, doing internet fix if you have problems.
Link for Droid Incredible MetroPCS Rom to you sdcard and install from recovery, backup before installing !
If you dont want the rom here is an easy way to fix your picture messages.
Extract folder from this zip to root of your sd card. Copy the folder too not just the .xml file !

Everything step by step to flash the rom, but when i reboot the device after flashing i get stuck at the HTC INCREDIBLE splash screen and it wont go any further. What do I need to do????

ReplyDeleteI tried to flash it several times. I tried re-downloading the image on two different computers. I tried wiping first, several times. nothing works, it's just stuck on boot-up and loops infinitely. Does anyone know if there is another ROM to try? this seems to be the only good guide I could find. When i dial 611 it's set to Metro so I know I am close, I just need a working ROM. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can restore it to the ROM it came with, is that what you mean? The problem is that the ROM provided in this forum doesn't boot.

ReplyDeleteI've flashed the RUU & definitely made a nandroid backup from which I can restore from, but still no luck with ur Rom on this phone. It's weird because I've used this Rom on another DInc. but this one doesn't want to play nice.
Do I need a different kernel, besides the stock one?
Should I try using Amons Recovery instead of Clockwork to wipe?
No disrespect to u or ur Rom b/c I know it works(even though it takes ages to get 1X back after u turn off WiFi)

I want to follow your instructions step by step, would it be alright to run unrevoked again on my computer? Also, what is the difference between the drivers on the unrevoked site and the "modified" drivers you have in the post? ReplyDeleteI've been using this method for about 1.5 years and have used it many times as it pretty much works on all Android phones that have root. However, these instructions are slightly different. Instead of "metropcs" as the shared secret, I use my MSL code and "proxy.metropcs.net" instead of "wap.metropcs.net" as stated above. Also, you can use many other ROMs as well. I can recommend the "SkyRaider v4.2" ROM works VERY well with this tutorial.

I also noticed that the above tutorial doesn't mention that you need to have Android SDK working and Autostart installed on your PC. Then opening up a command prompt on your PC and typing:

Doing that will insure that applications that require internet access to function, but are not currently near a WIFI signal, will work.

I had a phone with metro pcs I lost my phone and reported and they sent me another one the same day I got it my dog chewed it up! while I was outside chewing the dog out I found my other phone. Metro will not reactivate it for me. Is there anything I can do with it besides throw it in the trash? I already bought another phone but the one that now has a bad esn is (was) a better phone.

ReplyDeleteI called a Metro PCS Corporate office and talked to an extremely cell phone literate guy. He said they were discontinuing the flashing service and that the network in West Michigan has been upgraded and now is/has AWS. He said this would make my phone roam alot and eventually I would get kicked off the network for violating the TOS.
He stated that if I moved to the Detroit area that I could use a flashed Incredible there but if I traveled around I might find my performance really spotty and/or not working.
So much for that idea of getting this HTC Incredible on Metro PCS :(
